Thank you! Praise God!
To answer you question, thoughts do present themselves like “remember how much fun you had” or “remember how much you used to enjoy this”, but i know recognize the enemies voice and have a better understanding of how he works. I also know the feeling of victory when i am obedient to God and the joy he gives me when i do right by him, so when i listen to the voice of the enemy, it would only give me temporary pleasure with a lasting pain due to the distance between me and God.
Now i am still human, and still living in a world where the enemy plays all around me, but all the more i draw near God, all the more he transforms my heart into desiring him and only him and removing any lasting desire to live for the world. For me, it is a matter of redirecting my focusing on God and giving him all i got, and realizing that an eternity is FAR longer than the 80+ years (only by God’s will) of living on this earth. Temporary pleasures are not worth an eternity in hell.
Hope this answered your question!
In Christ,
Dan
